Samsung becomes BFF with Apple, rumored to bring its apps to iOS platform

The Samsung Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic will be compatible with iOS later this year.

Apple and Samsung really have a love/hate relationship. On one hand, both companies sued each other over patent infringement. On the other hand, Apple sources some components such as chipsets and display panels from Samsung for its iPhones. Their relationship appears to deepen further today with a report from SamMobile claiming that Samsung is bringing almost all its apps to the iOS platform.

Besides confirming that iOS support will be coming soon for the Gear S2 devices, Samsung is bringing its Gear Fit Manager, S Health, Remote Control, Family Square, Level and Smart Camera apps to iOS. If you haven't noticed by now, these apps support a wide range of its products from wearables, tablets, phones, audio devices, smart cameras and connected TVs.

Samsung sees iOS support as a critical strategy for the company to hit its five-year goal of having 100% of its hardware IoT ready
