Samsung acknowledges camera blur issue on Galaxy S23, a fix is coming

Samsung Galaxy S23 series.

Months after users started reporting camera blue issues on their Galaxy S23 devices, Samsung apparently just acknowledged the problem in a community post.

Spotted by Reddit user NoSeK2323, Samsung says the cause of the blur issue is due to the rear wide-angle camera. As it has a bright aperture, the more noticeable selective focus can make the background of photos look out of focus.

A future software update will fix the issue, but Samsung did not specify a timeline. In the meantime, the company is offering alternative workarounds for the issue which include taking a back step if the subject is 30cm away or even closer, and taking photos while holding the phone vertically.

A check on HardwareZone forums reveals that Galaxy S23 users here also experienced the camera blur issue as 11 February. One user claims the Galaxy S23 Ultra is unable to scan QR codes properly. Another user also reported the same issue. Another user shared that the camera blue issue is more prominent when taking photos of text or documents.
