Ruark Audio, a British family-owned brand known for producing luxury all-in-one music systems, has launched its latest compact system in Singapore.

The new R3 looks to be a versatile piece of music equipment made for smaller spaces like our modern apartments. With the dimensions of H167 x W420 x D220mm, it doesn’t seem to take up any more space than a few thick coffee table books stacked together.

Despite its small size, Ruark promises a “dynamic performance akin to larger sound systems” thanks to a high-fidelity two-channel Class A-B amplifier enclosed in a sleek enclosure that is dampened and tuned to provide the ideal audio performance.

And by sleek, we mean sleek. So proud is Ruark of its design approach that they preferred to talk about it first in the product press release before delving into audio quality. “Our philosophy has always been about creating music systems that first catch your eyes, and then your ears,” says Alan O’Rourke, Founder and Managing Director of Ruark Audio.

Unfortuanately, not much is said about the drivers and Ruark only mentions in the specs sheet that the R3 has "Ruark neodymium NS+ drivers".

The R3 exudes premium craftsmanship and opulent materials even from two-dimensional product images. From the curvaceous form of the hand-crafted cabinet to the coolness of the glass display, the warmth of the woven fabric grille to Ruark’s trademark RotoDial controller – you can tell a lot of love and attention has gone into its making.

Of course, you'll be able to play music from any modern medium, from streaming music via WiFi or Bluetooth aptX to FM and Internet radio, and even high-quality music from your CD collection.

The R3 will be available in Rich Walnut and Soft Grey colours from mid-August 2020 at S$1,299. Pre-orders can be made from Hachi.tech and Musica Boutique. It is also physically on display at Musica Boutique’s ION Orchard outlet, in case you’d like to take a gander before shelling out.
