RIM Might Rename QNX OS to BBX

An entry on the QNX blog indicated that Research in Motion (RIM) has a new name for the BlackBerry platform which is BBX.

According to CrackBerry, the name was leaked in a presentation slide at the QNX Auto Summit Japan 2011 Conference where the QNX Car 2 in-car system was introduced.

The QNX Car 2 has support for Android, BBX and iOS mobile platforms, which hinted that BBX could very well be the name of BlackBerry's new platform.

Meanwhile, the only product currently in the market with the QNX platform is the BlackBerry PlayBook and it seems very promising. The first BlackBerry QNX-powered phone is expected to arrive sometime in Q1 2012 based on information obtained by BGR.
