RGB Gaming Chairs? Meet the ROG Chariot

Spot the one with RGB.

There’s so much RGB lighting going around, and you’d even find them on chairs now too.

We'd seen it at Computex last year, where ASUS ROG had a massive booth full of everything PC (with RGB), but among the motherboards (with RGB), gaming notebooks (with RGB) and gaming monitor (with RGB) is a lifestyle section showcasing other stuff.

One, actually two, of these are the new ROG gaming chairs - the ROG Chariot (S$799) and ROG Chariot Core (S$539). Both are PU leather based bucket seats, but it's only the Chariot that has LEDs glowing off around it. There’s one just under the headrest and another, depicting the ROG logo, on the back.

To get the RGB working on the ROG Chariot, you'll need to hook the built-in controller to a battery power bank (not included in the purchase) that you hide under the seat. According to ASUS, you’ll get up to 11 hours of lighting on a 10,000 mAh battery. Not that you can actually see those lights while gaming, but it’s the whole battlestation aesthetic, you know?

Unfortunately, those LEDs are bound by Aura RGB presets with no Aura Sync. That means you can’t match it up with any custom lighting effects on your ROG desktop and peripherals, which is quite the letdown. You cycle between those presets using the above mentioned controller.

The Chariot Core is a non-RGB model but, honestly, if you’re forking out cash for an ROG branded gaming chair then you might as well have it lit up like most of its other products.

Both gaming chairs are available now at the online ASUS Flagship Store in Lazada.
