Four months after confirming that it would be selling refurbished Galaxy Note7, Samsung announced the availability of the device and gave it a new name.

Available from 7 July in South Korea only, the refurbished Galaxy Note7 is now officially known as the Galaxy Note Fan Edition. Only 400,000 units of the Galaxy Note Fan Edition will be sold at a retail price of 699,000 won (~S$840). As a point of reference, the Galaxy Note7 launched with a retail price of S$1,168.

This model is said to consist of "unopened" and "unused" parts from the Galaxy Note7, and has its 3,200mAh battery put through the 8-point Battery Safety Check. The design and hardware of the Galaxy Note Fan Edition are similar to the Galaxy Note7 although Android Central claims that the device will offer the same software experiences as the Galaxy S8 and S8+ such as the Bixby features (Bixby Home and Bixby Reminders).

It is not known at the moment whether Samsung has any plans to sell the Galaxy Note Fan Edition in other markets.
