Realme clones Apple's Dynamic Island feature on its latest Android phone
Realme has released an Android phone with a clone of Apple's Dynamic Island feature.
Dubbed Mini Capsule, the Dynamic Island-like feature on Realme C55 phone extends a strip of screen area beyond the centered punch-hole camera to shows notifications, charging status, and battery level. Realme says it plans to update the Mini Capsule feature to show steps and data usage in the future.
Other specs of the Realme C55 include a 6.7-inch LCD screen, Android 13, MediaTek Helio G88 processor, a rear dual-camera module, 5,000mAh battery, 6GB/8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB internal storage options.
Apple introduced the Dynamic Island feature on the iPhone 14 Pro. It is a UI element at the top that was designed to hide the pill-shaped cutout for the smaller TrueDepth camera module.
Xiaomi could be the next Android phone maker to clone the Dynamic Island feature. A developer managed to create an Android version for Xiaomi's MIUI. The theme, known as Grumpy UI, is reportedly under review by Xiaomi.
