Razer unveils their new Raion arcade fightpad

If you've been eyeing that Street Fighter game on the shelf lately, but are still a little on the fence, this latest bit of news might just be what's needed to tip you over the edge.

Razer has just unveiled their new dedicated arcade fightpad for PS4 and PC - the Raion. It features a 6-button fightpad layout, a tactile 8-way D-pad and traditional shoulder and trigger buttons, all wrapped up with Razer Yellow Mechanical Switches for maximum responsiveness.

Made in conjunction with inputs from fighting game professionals, the Raion's 6 face buttons are spaced slightly wider than most conventional fightpads, providing greater comfort for long periods of play. It also includes a handy competition lock function that prevents unwanted inputs during intense matches - we all know that feeling of using the wrong combo at the wrong time, don't we?

But the most eye-catching bit in our opinion are actually the Razer Yellow Switches. We're used to seeing them on keyboards, but I daresay having these on a fightpad is a pretty interesting concept. That said, we're not complaining - responsiveness is a top priority, especially where fighting games are concerned.

In any case, the Raion has already gone on sale in Europe, Asia-Pacific, China, Australia and New Zealand, with the United States and Canada following soon. At the time of writing, it's priced at US$99.99 (S$137.40).
