Razer’s Nabu smartband set for end November release

Razer fans waiting for the company’s Nabu smartband, we’ve word that the wearable will be hitting local shelves soon.

First shown at CES 2014 and just recently updated after gathering user feedback, the new Nabu is first and foremost a splashproof fitness tracker. Tracked by Nabu’s accelerometer and algorithms, progress can be displayed in real time on the band (it has an OLED 128 x 16 single color screen), on the companion app, or your favorite fitness app. In Razer’s own words, keeping fit is one of the rules to survive a zombie attack.

Of course, the iOS and Android-compatible Nabu is also capable of many other things, including sleep tracking and providing notification alerts. Razer is also calling it a “social wearable” because it can detect other Nabu bands in close proximity and let you connect with them in funs ways. In fact, a handshake with another Nabu user is all you need to exchange Facebook or Twitter contact info. According to the company, many developers are working on new ways for you to use the Nabu, including multiplayer games that connect you to others in real life, with exciting virtual feedback.

The Nabu should hit local stores end of November and is priced at S$174.90.
