Razer launches the new Blade 18 notebook, comes with new 4K display and Thunderbolt 5 connectivity

Razer has announced its latest iteration of the 18-inch Blade (2024) gaming notebook, sporting some of the latest and greatest technology available in the market.

They certainly aren’t joking: Aside from the expected Intel Core i9-14900HX mobile processor and up an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU (RTX 4070 and RTX 4080 options are available), the latest Razer Blade 18 also sports two “world’s firsts”:

  • An 18-inch OLED 4K display with a 200Hz refresh rate. This panel also comes with a 3.0ms response time, DCI-P3 100% colour gamut, is Calman Verified and factory-calibrated to cater to content creators and designers.
  • Thunderbolt 5 connectivity. The Blade 18 can connect multiple high resolution gaming displays (up to three 4K displays running at 120Hz), high speed storage, and all-in-one docks, through Bandwidth Boost, up to 120Gbps – three times more bandwidth than the current leading connection protocol.

Other specifications include 32GB of RAM running on dual-channel, support for dual-sided SSDs and Wi-Fi 7. Cooling is managed by a triple-fan system, necessary for maintaining thermal efficiency while under load. The audio department gets a boost with a six-speaker array, featuring THX spatial audio for an immersive sound experience. This is quite possibly the most future-proofed Blade 18 yet.

If an OLED display isn’t quite your cup of tea, Razer is also offering a Mini-LED display option. This QHD+ panel comes with a faster 300Hz refresh rate, and Razer says is an offering that suits gamers better.

The Razer Blade 18 with Mini-LED display is available now, while the model with the OLED display will be available sometime near the end of May 2024. Pricing starts from S$4,499, and will be exclusively available at the RazerStore in Funan or their webstore.
