Razer's Hammerhead True Wireless earbuds have a dedicated gaming mode for less lag

Razer Hammerhead True Wireless

Razer today revealed its first ever true wireless earbuds, seemingly timed to go up against the newly announced Apple AirPods Pro. Like Apple's earbuds, the Hammerhead True Wireless doesn't need any ear tips to fit in your ears, but they do still come with some silicon sleeves for better comfort.

This is a Razer product though, so the Hammerhead True Wireless is also touting an optimised implementation of Bluetooth 5.0 that supposedly delivers lower latency when connected to your phone. Razer says you shouldn't experience any lag or stuttering, as is sometimes commonplace with Bluetooth audio on Android devices. A dedicated Gaming Mode cuts latency down to just 60ms, according to Razer, so the Hammerhead True Wireless might be a good fit for games as well, where it's particularly important that your audio be in sync with what's happening onscreen.

Razer's earbuds are outfitted with a 13mm driver on each side, and they're also IPX4 water-resistant, which protects against splashes of liquid. The 275mAh battery is good for up to 3 hours of battery life, and the included charging case can supply an additional four charges, for a total of 15 hours of use. The cases charges via USB-C, and will automatically begin charging the earbuds once you plop them in.

If you've got a paired device within range, the Hammerhead True Wireless will connect to them once they're removed from the case.

There's also a mobile app you can use to pair and customise the earbuds. Touch controls are supported as well, and you can navigate your playlist, answer calls, or activate your smartphone virtual assistant directly from the earbuds.

The Hammerhead True Wireless will work with both iOS and Android devices. They're available to buy right now on the Razer store at S$158.90
