As a gamer, one of the most amusing things I've ever seen is someone trying to play competitive Call of Duty on a notebook trackpad. It's straight-up hilarious, and yes, I am well aware that people have completed Dark Souls on a potato too.

Regardless, the point is that most people aren't going to get very far in today's multiplayer games without a good mouse, so if you're in the market for one, you might want to check out what Razer dubs as its most advanced model to date: the Basilisk V3 Pro

Designed to provide flawless performance and sheer customisability, the latest member of the Basilisk family comes equipped with a 90-hour battery life and a wide suite of features to help improve the gaming experience. For starters, there's a 4-Way Razer HyperScroll Tilt Wheel and the Focus Pro 30K Optical Sensor. The former removes the need for gamers to continuously (and manually) scroll through wikis and menus with its free spin functionality, but can also be switched to Tactile Mode for better precision in high-intensity games like Valorant

Meanwhile, the latter brings a wide variety of supplementary A.I. functions to the fray, including Smart Tracking, Motion Sync and Asymmetric Cut-off. These inclusions not only promise better input tracking as a whole, but are able to accommodate different types of surfaces as well, including glass, a common obstacle for mouse tracking technologies

Backing these up are durable Razer Optical Mouse Gen 3 Switches with 90-million click lifespans, and if you're not fond of the default customisations, feel free to tune the Basilisk to your liking. The mouse comes with 10+1 different programmable buttons and a 13-zone Chroma Lighting with Full Underglow, featuring a 16.8 million colour palette and a variety of extra lighting effects.

Regarding accessibility, the Basilisk V3 Pro incorporates Razer HyperSpeed Wireless with a 2.4 GHz connection, which the lifestyle brand touts to be 25% faster than other wireless options on the market. Additionally, the mouse also works with the previously-announced HyperSpeed Wireless Dongle, rounded out with standard USB Type-C and Bluetooth compatibilities.

As for pricing and availability, the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro is now available via the Razer Official Store as well as affiliated retailers. Buying one of these will set you back a tidy S$249, but with the aforementioned myriad of features in tow, this sleek, wireless gaming mouse will certainly be worth the investment.
