R2-D2 lives! And you can get your very own from Haier now

 

 

Want to up your Star Wars cred? Well, you can’t do much better than grabbing this life-sized R2D2 by Haier Asia in Japan. Built on a made to order basis, the fridge is remote controlled, and built with light and sound effects that stay faithful to the original movie. It can move freely in any direction, and even features a fully functional built-in 720p HD projector, so you can watch movies on it too.

Ice cold drinks delivered to you by R2-D2. What's not to like? 

How much will this build-to-order replica cost you? Well, pre-orders are now up for this absolutely unique fridge for JPY998,000 (before tax), or about S$11,540. That’s a pretty hefty price given that the fridge only has 6L of storage capacity, but given that every unit is made to order and comes with a serial number, maybe the ultimate fan in you can just about justify it?
