Qualcomm to unveil the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on 24 October
Qualcomm is expected to announce its next Snapdragon 8 mobile platform in October.
Posted on the company's website, Qualcomm shared that its annual Snapdragon Summit will be held from 24 October to 26 October at Maui, Hawaii. This is about a month earlier than last year, where it took the wraps off the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is tipped to have a new 1+5+2 architecture instead of the current 1+2+2+3 architecture in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Gen 2 platforms. Other rumoured specs include a Cortex-X4 prime core, 5 x Cortex-A720 cores, 2 x Cortex-A520 cores and an Adreno 750 GPU.
The Xiaomi 14 series could be the first smartphones to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, followed by the Vivo X100 series, iQoo 12 series, Redmi K70 series, OnePlus 12 and Realme GT5.
