The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 will power upcoming mid-range Android phones

Qualcomm's new chip is the Snadragon 7s Gen 2, and it was designed specifically for mid-range Android smartphones.

Built on a 4nm process, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 features four performance cores clocked at up to 2.4GHz and four efficiency cores clocked at up to 1.95GHz.

It ships with the Snapdragon X62 5G modem that supports 5G mmWave and sub-6GHz, standalone and non-standalone modes, and offers peak download speeds of up to 2.9Gbps.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 supports FHD+ displays with 144Hz refresh rates, triple-camera configurations up to 16MP, up to 200MP photo capture, and up to 4K video recording at 30fps.

Other specs include Quick Charge 4+, support for LPDDR5 memory of up to 3,200MHz, Bluetooth 5.2, and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity. 

Although Qualcomm did not provide a launch timeline for the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, word on the street is that it will power the upcoming Redmi Note 13 Pro from Xiaomi.

Consumers can also expect the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 to power more upcoming mid-range Android smartphones by the end of the year.
