Qualcomm just unveiled the successor to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 platform.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 platform comes with the Kyro CPU that has peak speeds of up to 2.91GHz. According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 delivers more than 50% better performance and up to 13% improved power efficiency compared to its predecessor.

In terms of gaming, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 supports select Snapdragon Elite Gaming features such as Auto Variable Rate Shading (VRS), Volumetric Rendering for realism, lossles music streaming, and lag-freeee sound.

For camera capabilities, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 comes with an 18-bit Triple ISP for taking 30 photos and merging the best captures into one shot for brighter, sharper and more colorful low-light images. The ISP is also able to capture over 4,000x more camera data for higher dynamic range. The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 supports up to 200MP photo capture and staggered HDR video capture with triple exposure from two cameras simultaneously.

Other specs include 2x improved AI performance, Snapdragon X62 5G modem with download speeds of up to 4.4Gbps, support for 5G/4G Dual-Sim Dual Active (DSDA), and Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 Mobile Connectivity System for ultra-fast Wi-Fi connectivity at up to 3.6Gbps.

Qualcomm says key OEM brands such as Redmi and Realme will adopt its Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 and launch their commercial devices later this month.
