PSA: Nikon is ending its free repair program for D600 cameras suffering from the sensor dust issue

Six years after issuing the first advisory confirming a dust issue on its D600 full-frame DSLR camera, Nikon has now announced that the free repair program is coming to an end on Jan 10, 2020.

Nikon:

This announcement is to inform users of the D600 that requests for this free corrective servicing will only be accepted until 10 January 2020. Service requests to address this issue after 10 January 2020 will be handled in accordance with standard Nikon repair policies.

If you would like to have your Nikon D600 inspected for this issue and corrected as needed, at no cost, please request the service from a Nikon service center as soon as possible.

In short, if you’re still holding on to the D600, you now have less than six months to get the issue fixed free of charge. If you’ve already moved on but know of someone who hasn’t, please help spread the word too because friends don’t let friends use a dusty camera.
