Private-hire car service RydeX set to launch in Singapore on 2 May

A month after Grab announced its acquisition of Uber in Southeast Asia, another private-hire car service is set to launch in Singapore on 2 May. The service will be available for iOS and Android mobile devices.

Ryde Technologies, which is a homegrown mobility app, just announced the launch of RydeX, its private-hire car service. More than 5,000 drivers have registered to be on RydeX since Ryde's announcement two weeks ago to move into private-hire car service.

In a nutshell, RydeX is available in two options: RydeX Scheduled and RydeEXEC

  • RydeX Scheduled allows you to book a private-hire car from 10 minutes to 7 days in advance. You also can request for a specific driver if you have experienced an exceptional service previously.
  • RydeEXEC is a premium travel option that connects you to luxurious cars which are driven by the best drivers available. Drivers need to maintain high service ratings of at least 4.7 to be eligible for RydeEXEC.

Overall, RydeX offers upfront fixed fares calculations with no unexpected price surges at the time of booking. These fares include all surcharges and tolls such as ERP. If you have enjoyed a great service, there is an option in the app to tip the driver. There is no additional service fees on tips.
