Taiwanese custom graphics card manufacturer Powercolor today announced its monster triple slot Devil 13 HD 7990 graphics card, which features dual Radeon HD 7970 GPUs on a custom PCB, operating at a core clockspeed of 925MHz. The card also makes use of a BIOS switch which ramps core speeds up to 1GHz when activated. The board carries a whopping 6GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 5500MHz and features one DVI-I port, one DVI-D port, one HDMI port, and two miniDisplayPort ports. It's powered by three 8-pin Molex PCI Express power connectors, and requires at least an 850W PSU.

To cool the Devil 13, Powercolor utilizes a triple cooling fan solution, with no less than ten heat pipes to maximize heat dissipation.

Currently AMD has yet to release its own dual-GPU HD 7000 series model, making rival NVIDIA's GTX 690 the only 28nm process dual-GPU card available on the market right now.

No pricing has been released for the Powercolor HD 7990 at this time, however expect it to be in the range of US$1000.
