No matter how annoyed you may be to find that the trash can is still empty after more than two decades, or how Alolan Exeggutor is actually considered a Dragon-type, there's probably one thing about the franchise that all Pokemon fans can somewhat agree on - that it has an absolutely memorable soundtrack.

Whether you like the simple tranquility of Unova's Village Bridge soundtrack (with all of the assorted musical accompaniments!), or Zinnia's battle theme from Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (my personal favourite), the games are filled with melodies that many of us quite literally grew up with, and they'll always inspire a certain wistfulness when you pick them up for another playthrough.

Speaking of music, we'd like to invite you to set a reminder for 5pm today, 24 Dec, because The Pokemon Company will be broadcasting a special Christmas Eve orchestra concert on YouTube at that time. It will apparently feature various soundtracks from Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and though the full setlist has not been revealed, the organisers have confirmed that Cynthia's eternally-awesome battle theme will be part of it.

If you ask me, that's more than enough reason to check it out. After all, the Sinnoh region (and its notoriously difficult Champion) holds a very special place in many players' hearts, and let's just say such concerts don't come by often enough. On that note, do make sure to tune in, and from all of us at the HardwareZone office - a very Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones!
