Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Poco, unveiled the new Poco X3 GT phone. With this new addition, Poco now has a gamut of 2021 high-end, entry-level, and now mid-range alternatives available here.

The Poco X3 GT offers a MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chipset. While it’s one step below spec-wise to the true flagship Dimensity 1200, it’s built on the same 6nm process that created its flagship peer. In addition, the chipset has an integrated 5G modem with dual 5G SIM support, so the Poco X3 GT can connect to 5G networks.

X3 GT is also the first Poco phone to pack 67W Turbo Charging fast-charging technology. The brand claimed that its 5,000mAh could charge up from 0% to 100% in 42 minutes. Should you choose to get the phone, you’ll be pleased to know that its 67W adapter is included in the box.

Facing the user would be a large 6.6-inch Full HD+ (2,400 x 1,080 pixels resolution) DotDisplay with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. To conserve power, the display has DynamicSwitch adaptive refresh rate built in, where the phone’s active refresh rate changes based on the content or app used.

Other display features are its support for DCI-P3 wide colour gamut, 450-nits brightness, all packed underneath Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. To match its display offerings, Poco X3 GT has Dolby Atmos-certified stereo sound.

The rear packs a triple camera configuration led by a 64MP main camera (with a pixel-binned 1.4μm and f/1.79 aperture), an 8MP ultra-wide shooter (f/2.2, 120° FOV), and a 2MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture. Software features are Pro Time Lapse, AI Shutters for identifying best images among burst takes, and real-time bokeh video recording.

Other features include an IR Blaster, NFC support, Wi-Fi 6 compatibility, Bluetooth 5.2, a side fingerprint sensor, and AI Face Unlock. Unfortunately, Poco did not say if the phone has any waterproof certification.

Pricing and availability

The Poco X3 GT officially retails at S$429 (8GB RAM + 128GB storage) and S$499 (8GB RAM + 256GB storage) respectively. The colours available are Stargaze Black, Cloud White, and Wave Blue.

Between 3 and 4 August 2021, the phones will go at an early bird pricing on Lazada, at S$399 and S$459, respectively.

Customers who buy the 256GB variant on 3 August (one day only) can receive a free gift from Poco (worth S$55).
