PlayStation 5 owners are getting six months of Apple TV+ for free

Time to binge Ted Lasso.

Sony has just announced an extra benefit for PlayStation 5 owners: a free six-month trial of Apple TV+. This offer is only available to owners of Sony’s next-generation console, and redeemable anytime from now until 22 July, 2022.

If you own a PS5, here’s how you can get in on the offer. First up, you’ll need to download the Apple TV app on your console, and sign in using your Apple ID. If you don’t have an Apple ID, you’ll have to create one. Either way, you won’t be able to redeem the six-month trial until you add a payment method to your Apple ID.

You should know that this subscription is automatically renewed once the six-month trial ends, at which point you’ll be charged on a monthly basis. Keep an eye on your subscription if you don’t want that to happen. If you’re already subscribed to Apple TV+, you can still use this offer to squeeze six free months out of the streaming service - unless you’re accessing it through a bundle like Apple One.

If you’re on Apple TV+ via some other free trial, you can still get these six months for free. It’s a pretty sweet deal and the timing couldn’t be better, too. Season 2 of Apple’s critical darling comedy series Ted Lasso launched today, so you can check that out immediately upon redeeming this offer.
