Next-gen is right around the corner.

Sony has announced that the PlayStation 5 Asia Celebration Showcase will begin on November 11 at 11pm (that’s right, 11.11), celebrating the launch of the next-gen console. The event will be livestreamed, featuring, “one of the biggest acts in Asia,” JJ Lin

JJ Lin will participate in an exclusive unboxing session, and content creators Joakim Gomez (Mediacorp 987 DJ) and Victoria Cheng will share their gameplay experiences. The biggest draw however, is that viewers tuning in can participate in quests to win a PlayStation 5 Console, Pulse 3D Wireless Headset or PlayStation Plus 12-Month membership.

Only PlayStation Network account holders in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia are eligible to join the event and win these free goodies, however. You can find out if your region is eligible below, according to the official rules:

  • PlayStation 5: PSN account holders in Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore.

  • PULSE 3D Wireless Headset: PSN account holders in Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore.

  • PlayStation Plus 12-Month Membership: PSN account holders in Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore.

  • PS4 Space Fantasy Theme: PSN account holders in Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia.

Multiple Asian countries - such as the Philippines, Malaysia and India - still have no release date information for the PlayStation 5, so it’s not surprising that they’re not eligible to win a free console here. Hopefully, the event will finally reveal pricing and release date information for these countries, but I wouldn’t count on it.

The PlayStation 5 will launch on November 19 in Singapore. Have you managed to snag a pre-order yet?
