Pioneer's latest in-car receivers come with new user interface and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Pioneer has updated its range of in-car multimedia receivers. There are five new models in total and they all feature a redesigned user interface, 24-bit True Color panels, and support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and WebLink. The receivers also support a wide range of popular audio and video formats and codecs including DivX, MP4, H.264, WMV, MP3, AAC, WMA, WAV, and FLAC.
Leading the pack is the new AVH-Z9250BT. This is Pioneer's latest flagship in-car multimedia receiver and it comes with a 7-inch capacitive display and requires a double-DIN slot for installation. In terms of connectivity, the AVH-Z9250BT is the richest. It supports Bluetooth, dual USB, HDMI, Wi-Fi, and even has an SD card slot. It supports both Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and WebLink. Most importantly, it is the only unit to support wireless Apple CarPlay. Also unique to the AVH-Z9250BT is its ability to be paired up to 20 devices (the rest of the receivers can only do up to 5). It also supports front and rear-view camera inputs. The Pioneer AVH-Z9250BT is priced at S$1,199.
Next up is the DMH-ZS8250BT. This particular unit has a modular setup allowing it to be installed in a single, double, and even non-DIN configuration. The 8-inch capacitive touchscreen display is the largest here. In terms of connectivity, the DMH-ZS8250BT supports both Bluetooth and USB, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and WebLink. It can also accept front and rear-view camera inputs. The Pioneer DMH-ZS8250BT is priced at S$1,149.
Next up is the AVH-Z7250BT. This particular model is ideal for cars with only a single DIN slot because it has a motorized display that lifts up when activated. It comes with a 7-inch resistive touchscreen display and supports Bluetooth and USB connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as front and rear-view camera inputs. The Pioneer AVH-Z7250BT is priced at S$1,099.
The AVH-Z5250BT is the mid-range model with a 6.8-inch resistive touchscreen display. It uses a double-DIN configuration. Like the rest of models, it supports Bluetooth and USB connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as front and rear-view camera inputs. The Pioneer AVH-Z5250BT is priced at S$999.
The entry-level model is the AVH-Z2250BT. This also uses a double-DIN configuration and has a 6.2-inch resistive touchscreen display. Again, it supports Bluetooth and USB connectivity, Apple CarPlay, as well as front and rear-view camera inputs. Note that this model doesn’t support Android Auto. The Pioneer AVH-Z2250BT is priced at S$699.
