Philips has launched Sonicare DiamondClean Smart, its latest Sonicare electric toothbrush with Bluetooth connectivity for real-time feedback. This is in conjunction with World Heart Day as our oral health is inextricably linked with our cardiovascular system’s well-being. The Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart commands a premium price-tag of S$399, and it offers a whole host of features like its Smart Sensor technology, together with its host of sensors, which connect “seamlessly” with Philips Sonicare app (supported on both iOS and Android).

The sensors provide “real-time” feedback to the user via the specialised mobile application. The sensors include a pressure sensor that alerts the user if he’s brushing too hard, and a scrubbing sensor that reminds the user to reduce excessive scrubbing.

The Sonicare DiamondClean Smart has a “location sensor” tracking where the user has already brushed. The electric toothbrush provides feedback, via the Sonicare mobile app, and reminds the user to brush those teeth that have been missed out, using visual cues on its 3D mouth map.

The Sonicare app receives feedback from the Sensor Technology, and uses the yellow markings on the 3D mouth map to indicate teeth that have yet to be cleaned.

The smart, connected electric toothbrush has a built-in chip to determine operation settings automatically. The user can also manually choose between the following modes, and they are as follows:-

Clean - For exceptional everyday clean
White+ - To remove surface stains
Deep Clean+ - For an invigorating deep clean
Gum Health - Special attention to molars
TongueCare+ - For long lasting clean breath

Each mode has three intensity levels, i.e., low, medium, and high. The Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart is bundled with three additional brush heads. There’s also a travel case that doubles up as a charging base when the case’s USB-A plug is connected to a corresponding port of your laptop or USB power adapter.
