Philips’s gaming brand Evnia adds a premium 49-inch curved QD OLED monitor to its arsenal

Philips has added a new monitor to its Philips Evnia gaming sub-brand, it’s a monster of a display meant to sate gamers who want wide perspectives with ultra-high display quality to match.

New to Evnia is the Philips Evnia 49M2C8900 monitor, a 49-inch curved display with QD OLED panels arranged in 32:9 aspect ratio. With a display this wide, it’s rated at Double QHD resolution (5,210 x 1,440 pixels).

Key features include its maximum 240Hz refresh rate with 450 nits of peak brightness and True 10-bit colour gamut. To push these premium specs along, Evnia 49M2C8900 packs a ton of certifications to verify its blur-free rendering (Vesa ClearMR 13000), and contrast handling (DisplayHDR True Black 400).

Besides its eye-melting viewing experience, Evnia 49M2C8900 has DTS Sound with 30W output built-in for audio duties and 90W PD (power delivery) for its USB-C port. Naturally, being a top-of-the-line Philips gaming panel also grants it vanity RGB lights – Ambiglow.

Philips Evnia 49M2C8900 monitor joins a growing list of Evnia displays and accessories, with its “8900” model number indicating it belongs to the sub-brand’s 8000-series premium-grade products. Philips said the Philips Evnia 49M2C8900 monitor will be available from November 2023 onwards, but availability varies by country. We’ll update if they bring it to our shores.
