If you’re looking to get a 4K OLED TV this year, you’re in luck. That’s because unlike past years, you now have quite a few models from a few brands to choose from. LG has a few series, Sony has a couple of models, and now, Panasonic’s offerings are also in town.

In broad strokes, Panasonic has two 4K OLED TV series: the EZ1000 and EZ950. The former is the flagship series and only comes in a 65-inch screen size (model: TH-65EZ1000S), while the latter is available in 65 and 55 inches (model: TH-65EZ950S and TH-55EZ950S) .

For more specifics, know that the EZ1000 is the best 4K HDR OLED TV that Panasonic has right now. It has ISF calibrated color modes, covers the DCI-P3 space almost fully, and has this Dynamic Blade Speaker system that houses no less than 14 speaker units (eight woofers, four squawkers and two tweeters, plus a quad passive radiator to boost bass).

Under the hood, Panasonic is touting a Studio Color HCX2 processor (supposedly tuned with Hollywood professionals) that’s able to regain lost details in near-black picture areas; and a 4K Hexa Chroma Drive Pro technology that the company says is able to more faithfully reproduce colors because it also takes into account CMY color info. Note that while both the EZ1000 and EZ950 have the HCX2 processor and 4K Hexa Chroma Drive Pro tech, and are Ultra HD Premium and THX Display-certified, only the EZ1000 has a “Master HDR OLED” branding, which suggests an overall better panel. Both TV series don't support Dolby Vision and 3D.

On the software front, the EZ1000 features a newly developed My Home Screen 2.0 smart system (based on Firefox OS). Key features include favorites folders for multiple users, a My App button on the remote that can be customized for faster access to your own favorite content, and a revamped Media Player app that supports 4K HDR10 and Hybrid Log-Gamma content. The EZ1000 also supports 4K HDR streaming from Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube.

The 65-inch EZ1000 is now out in stores and has a suggested retail price of S$10,999 (street price is probably lower). The EZ950, which differs from the EZ1000 mainly in the panel capability (e.g., the EZ1000 has an Absolute Black Filter to soak up ambient light and cut down reflections) and speaker setup (only the EZ1000 has the Dynamic Blade Speaker that’s integrated to the TV’s stand), can be had for S$8,999 (65-inch) or S$4,999 (55-inch).
