Panasonic Showcases 20-inch 4K UHD Tablet at IFA 2013

In addition to its 65-inch 4K UHDTV, Panasonic is also showing off a 20-inch 4K UHD Toughpad tablet prototype. This tablet weighs 2.4kg, has a thickness of 12.5mm, and a 10-point multi-touch screen (there's an optional digital stylus called Anoto Live pen). It runs on Windows 8.1 Pro (64-bit), and is powered by an Intel Core i5 3437U vPro processor clocked at 1.9GHz, NVIDIA GeForce 745M graphics, 4 or 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and a 128 or 256GB SSD. There's even a front-facing camera capable of 720p recording. Battery life is rated at about 2 hours.

A tablet this size and resolution (3,840 x 2,560 pixels) can't be for the masses, and indeed, the company is targeting this tablet for use in business and for professional work, such as architecture drawing. Another example Panasonic is pitching is to use it in a museum for visitors to admire works of art more realistically on the ultra high-res screen.

The 20-inch 4K tablet has a thickness of just 12.5mm and weighs about 2.4kg. It has a single USB 3.0 port, an expansion bus connector, a headphone jack, and an SDXC card slot.
