Panasonic’s Lumix Tether for Streaming utility now works on Macs
In June, Panasonic released a Lumix Tether for Streaming program that let compatible Lumix cameras double as live-streaming cameras. Originally for PCs running Windows 10, this program has now been updated to work with Macs.
Versus the usual tether mode, the new streaming mode will only output the camera view without the GUI overlays (e.g., focus area markings), which are unnecessary during streaming.
The Panasonic Lumix cameras that work with Lumix Tether for Streaming include:
- GH5
- G9
- GH5S
- S1
- S1R
- S1H
While the software now runs on Macs, it’s only compatible up to macOS 10.14 Mojave. Panasonic acknowledges that there are some issues when it’s used on macOS 10.15 Catalina, but there's no word when they would be fixed.
