The new Panasonic Toughbook A3 is an Android tablet designed and built with mobile users working in challenging work environments in mind. That includes those in the emergency services, utilities, field service, transport, logistics and automotive fields. Its MIL-STD-810 military-grade build with Ingress Protection Rating (IP65) sets it apart from other more precocious tablets, protecting it from harsh environmental elements like dust and water, and against knocks. It comes with a 10.1-inch display, weighs 885g, and is drop tested to 1.5m by Panasonic engineers, making it light, portable and durable.

Mina Baek, General Manager and Head of Business, Toughbook Solutions Group, Panasonic System Solutions Asia Pacific said:

The mobility and durability of work devices are critical for workers who ply their trade in the harshest of work conditions. With this in mind, Panasonic has made marked improvements to the TOUGHBOOK A3 in every way, to provide mobile workers with a more adaptable, powerful and secure mobile computing solution to meet the business-critical needs of their profession. With a rugged and powerful device that can be counted on to support their mission-critical tasks, this will pave the way for workers to focus on their effectiveness and productivity, enhancing overall organisational efficiency.

Using a tablet outdoors can be challenging at times due to screen glare. The Toughbook A3’s 10.1-inch outdoor-viewable display at 1,920 x 1,200 pixels resolution offers high visibility and clarity in all light and weather conditions. The capacitive touchscreen display supports up to 10-points of multi-touch and allows it to be used with bare hands, gloved hands, or the capacitive stylus pen even in rainy conditions. The Toughbook A3 also comes with five user-defined buttons for users to customise shortcuts, such as launch frequently used applications or run set routines at the press of a button.
