Overwatch 2's first Thai hero is arriving just in time for Songkran
Overwatch 2 is getting its first-ever Thai hero. Lifeweaver hails from the Land of Smiles, bringing long-awaited representation for the game's legion of Thai fans.
Voiced by Thai actor Phuwin Tangsakyuen, Lifeweaver joins the support line-up as the 37th hero on the Overwatch 2 roster. He will arrive alongside Season 4 on April 12, just in time for Songkran.
In another first, Lifeweaver is also the first openly pansexual Overwatch hero. He brings one of the most complex playstyles to the game, even introducing a few new mechanics.
Lifeweaver's real name is Niran Pruksamanee, nicknamed Bua, a reference to lotus flowers in Thai. He is described as witty and kind, and always looking to lift those in need.
The hero is characterised by his love and respect for nature as well as his advanced biolight technology. This groundbreaking technology is woven throughout his abilities, and it plays a pivotal role in the healing and utility aspects of his kit.
- Healing Blossom - Hold to charge a healing burst. Release to heal a targeted ally.
- Thorn Volley - Rapidly fire a spread of projectiles.
- Petal Platform - Throw a platform that springs upwards when stepped on.
- Rejuvenating Dash - Dash towards your traveling direction and lightly heal yourself.
- Life Grip - Pull an ally to your location, protecting them as they travel.
- Parting Gift (Passive) - On death, drop a gift that heals the first person, enemy or ally, to pick it up.
- Tree of Life (Ultimate) - Place a tree that instantly heals allies upon sprouting and continues healing periodically as it lives.
Blizzard's goal with Lifeweaver was to create an accessible support hero who is viable in many different scenarios and skill levels. Healing Blossom is soft target-based, like Brigitte’s Armor Packs, and is designed to enable players across the board to find value in his kit and playstyle.
Lifeweaver's kit also helps him and allies to get out of sticky situations, with abilities like Petal Platform, Rejuvenating Dash, and Life Grip.
He is shaping up to be an exceedingly well-rounded support, with plenty of room for creative play in the hands of a skilled player.
