OPPO has just announced that the new Reno11 F 5G will be launched in Singapore on 29 March 2024.

Priced at S$499, this midrange smartphone packs in hardware and features that seem to punch above its weight class.

OPPO said the phone is available in three colours (Ocean Blue, Coral Purple and Palm Green), further accentuated by its proprietary Magnetic Particle design on the rear. The phone also has a matte finish, flat sides, and rounded corners while adhering to IP65-rated water and dust resistance.

Despite its midrange categorisation, OPPO Reno11 F 5G has a flagship-like 6.7-inch AMOLED display, thanks to perks like 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support with a local peak brightness of 1,100 nits. These perks would certainly help a lot in ensuring your streamed K-Pop videos appear colour accurate, fluid, and sharp to the eye.

The phone is powered by a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Only one configuration will be available for purchase in Singapore, the 8GB + 256GB model.

However, the phone supports expandable storage up to 2TB via microSD card, which is excellent as most phones supporting expandable storage only allow for up to 1TB.

The Reno series by OPPO typically focuses on its mastery over photo- and video-taking. With the Reno11 F 5G comes a 64MP main camera (1/2-inch OV64B sensor, f/1.7 aperture, 25mm focal length). There's also an 8MP ultra-wide camera (f/2.2, 16mm) and a 2MP macro camera (4cm focusing distance). For selfies, there's a 32MP front camera that sports a f/2.4 aperture.

It's not just all hardware, however, with photography algorithms like OPPO's Portrait Expert Engine that uses artificial intelligence to enhance portrait shots (selfies).

There's also the Smart Image Matting (pictured above). The phone analyses an image, selects and cuts out the foreground subject, and turns it into a transparent PNG that can be used in other apps.

There's a 5,000mAh battery inside that OPPO claims will last a full, connected day. For topping off, OPPO said it has 67W SUPERVOOC Flash Charging that supposedly charges the phone from 0-100% in just 48 minutes.

To promote the OPPO Reno11 F 5G, OPPO has also announced a partnership with BSS, a sub-unit consisting of three members from the main Korean boyband group SEVENTEEN.

The three members, Seungkwan (Boo Seung-Kwan), DK (Lee Seokmin) and Hoshi (Kwon Soonyoung), have been appointed as OPPO Reno Experts, with the brand stating that the members' "youthful energy and a genuine love for self-expression perfectly represents the key features of OPPO’s latest smartphone".

A creative video (watch here) was also shot with the three members showcasing their use of the Reno11 F 5G to capture moments and express their creativity, using features like the AI Portrait Retouching to get that perfect selfie as well as Smart Image Matting to create cool composite images.

"The OPPO Reno series prides itself on being the portrait expert and we are thrilled to partner with BSS. It is not just about the innovation of the Reno series but more about providing a tool for genuine, joyous expression. We invite fans of OPPO and BSS alike to join us on this portrait photography journey to seize the opportunity and showcase their creativity," said Andy Shi, APAC President of OPPO.
