Oppo Pad Air wants to be your entertainment companion at just S$399

Oppo today (3 November 2022) announced the launch of the Oppo Pad Air, an affordable entertainment tablet with a large screen experience that surpasses video-watching on a handset.

It packs a 10.36-inch IPS display rated at 2K resolution (2,000 x 1,200 pixels) with 60Hz refresh rate, supporting one billion colours with a brightness of up to 360 nits. The viewing experience is heightened by its 83.5% screen ratio, helping to keep its bezels thin enough for content immersion.

Four large speakers with Dolby Atmos compatibility further support Oppo Pad Air, along with important Bluetooth audio codecs (SBC, AAC, AptX, AptX HD, and LDAC) for its Bluetooth 5.1 wireless pairing to audio devices. For wired audio, it shares its USB-C charging port.

For video calls, you get an 8MP rear camera (Continuous AutoFocus) and 5MP front camera (fixed focus).

The tablet has a 7,100mAh battery capacity, which Oppo said can offer up to 12 hours of video playback, or attend 15 hours’ worth of video conferences, or e-book reading of 16 hours. It also has 18W fast charging (9V/2A) to help users top its battery levels off quickly.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 680-backed device has plenty of perks to convince you that it’s the best entertainment companion. One is its TÜV Rheinland eye care display certification, and another is ColourOS 12.1’s host of features like Multi-Screen Connect, Drag and Drop support (between connected phone and Pad Air), and Clipboard Sharing. Finally, it has Oppo’s proprietary Extended RAM technology, which consumes storage space to add virtual RAM for heavier apps.

All this comes stuffed within its thin (6.94mm) and light (440g) body, which uses a sandblasted 3D texture design on the rear that mitigates fingerprint smudges and slippage.
