Oppo launches the World’s lightest closed back Planar Magnetic headphones

Oppo’s new PM-3 is targeted at audiophiles and enthusiasts who want premium sound coupled with a high degree of comfort. Said to be able to recreate the listening experience of a quality two-channel speaker system, the PM-3 takes technologies derived from the award-winning PM-1 headphones and fits it into a lightweight, portable package.

The seven-layer double-sided voice-coil diaphragm design and FEM-optimized neodymium magnet system derived during the PM-1’s development allow the PM-3 to reduce the weight of the planar magnetic drivers while still maintaining their sound quality and high sensitivity. Driven in a symmetric push-pull manner, the thin and light diaphragm follows magnetic system and conductor patterns that have been optimized for maximum sensitivity and conductivity.

All-new 55mm-diameter round drivers that are especially suitable for lightweight closed back designs have been used, allowing the PM-3 to produce a very natural and smooth sound with the addition of deep, tight bass. The PM-3’s closed back design provides passive noise isolation so you can enjoy your music uninterrupted by the outside world, while the light weight of the headphones (320g without cable) means you’ll be able to keep them on for hours on end.

The Oppo PM-3 headphones are extremely light-weight

Compatible with any smartphone and portable music player, the PM-3 is available now for S$579 from the OPPO flagship store and from all authorized OPPO retailers.

HA-2 Headphone Amplifier

Also released, is the sleek and classy HA-2, a multifunction headphone amplifier that is also a USB Digital Analog Converter and a power source that you can use to charge other devices on-the-go.

Sporting a slim metal body wrapped in leather, the HA-2 has a classy design that suits both the urban Millennial and the business executive. It features a hybrid class AB amplifier and a USB DAC (the ESS Sabre DAC Chip ESS Sabre32 Reference ES9018-K2M) that supports 384kHz PCM and DSD256 (native mode only) thus being able to support both your Mac and PC computers as well as your phone.

Thanks to the large 3000mAh lithium polymer rechargeable battery, the HA-2 is also able to recharge your portable devices on the go. Thanks to OPPO’s patented VOOC rapid charge technology, the HA-2 gets back to full capacity in as little as 30 minutes, so that certainly should mean you’ll always be ready to go.

The HA-2 will function as a USB DAC for your laptop too.

The HA-2 is available now for S$469 from the OPPO flagship store and from all authorized OPPO retailers.
