Oppo launches limited edition R11 with FC Barcelona regalia

From 12th to 25th August 2017, fans of FC Barcelona can pre-order the special Oppo FCB R11 – a limited edition make of the Oppo R11 with livery from the famous Spanish football club. Each of these limited edition handsets will retail at S$799, which is slightly more expensive than the regular R11 smartphone.

Folks who pre-order the device will get an exclusive Oppo X FC Barcelona back pack, and they are entered into a lucky draw with a chance to win one signed FC Barcelona jersey (autographed by its club’s stars, such as Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Gerard Pique). Only 500 of these R11 handsets will make their way to Singapore on 26th August 2017.

The special Oppo R11 uses the color scheme of FC Barcelona, featuring its traditional red and blue colors delineated in the Golden Ratio format. The club logo on the phone’s rear is made from 18-carat gold. Oppo used an adhesive fill technique for the phone’s antenna, topped off with an anodized coloring process to bond the football club’s colors onto the R11.

“We’re proud to be a global partner of one of the most widely supported sports teams in the world. Our limited edition R11 fuses sport with technology to deliver a phone for die-hard fans that captures FC Barcelona’s spirit so well", said Sean Deng, Managing Director of Oppo Singapore.

To promote the launch of the R11’s FCB edition, a part of the Oppo concept store in Suntec City will be transformed into a fan experience zone for a day (26th August itself). The store will have the FIFA 17 Barcelona Challenge, where visitors can attempt to defeat A.I.-variants of their rivals, Real Madrid, to enter a lucky draw for an FC Barcelona jersey.

Design aside, how does the Oppo R11 hold up as a phone? You can learn more from our review here. You can also see how the phone looks like without the fancy regalia on this page, too. Also, this isn’t the first time where Oppo is showing favoritism for their preferred football club.
