Affordable doesn’t have to look cheap. Take it from Oppo, the brand that just launched the entry-level Oppo A76 handset.

The Oppo A76 features Glow Design – a smudge-resistant, textured appearance with colour-shifting properties under different lighting conditions. The phone is available in two main colourways: Glowing Blue and Glowing Black.

As an entry-level handset, Oppo A76 packs all the bare essentials needed to get users through the day. The phone offers a 5,000mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC fast-charging, which Oppo claims can offer 3.5 hours of phone calls after a five-minute charge. It also packs a host of power-saving and longevity features, like Super Power Saving Mode, Super Nighttime Standby, and Optimising Night Charging.

The 6.56-inch LCD panel may only have HD+ resolution (1,612 x 720 pixels), but Oppo made sure the A76 still has a smooth user experience thanks to its 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate. Social media and streamed content are well within its display specs, on top of being responsive to user input.

Inside, the phone packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset, making the Oppo A76 a 4G/LTE phone. It may be an entry-level processor, but the A76 offers a ton of optimisations to push its hardware to the limit. For example, it has expandable storage (via MicroSD, up to 1TB) to accompany its 128GB internal space. Also, the 6GB RAM has help from its RAM Expansion feature, which lets users tap into virtual RAM to get more done.

Rear cameras include a 13MP, f/2.2 primary shooter with AutoFocus, and a 2MP bokeh camera for beautified shots. Together, they can offer Portrait Mode stills with shallow depth-of-field, made naturally with the help of a bokeh lens. In addition, both front and rear cameras have HDR support.

Oppo doesn’t mention if the A76 has IP-rated waterproofing or NFC support.
