In the latest slew of OnePlus Nord reveals, the phone brand announced that the mid-range OnePlus Nord will come with Google's Messages and Phone apps pre-installed on the device.

The brand uploaded a 10-second clip announcing the inclusion of Messages, Duo, and Phone by Google over at the official Instagram page of OnePlus Nord. The video claimed that having these apps will help the phone get the 'smoothest-est' Android experience possible, which likely pokes at how many Android devices use proprietary versions of these apps that don't offer much in the way of user experiences.

Based on 9to5Google's analysis, the use of Messages by Google would mean RCS messaging capabilities for the OnePlus Nord device, although RCS messaging is telco-specific (yes, RCS is in Singapore). In a nutshell, RCS functionality brings the old SMS messaging experience closer to what you'd normally get on Telegram, WhatsApp, and other data-based messaging apps, where memes and URL-sharing are plentiful.

In an earlier teaser, OnePlus officially confirmed some of the hardware specs coming to the OnePlus Nord, and also revealed their physical design ahead of the phone's 21 July 2020 global launch.
