OnePlus 7 series launch event date confirmed

OnePlus has confirmed the launch event date for its upcoming flagship smartphones.

The company revealed the date, 14 May via a tweet and used the tagline "Go Beyond Speed" for the announcement. OnePlus will be holding simultaneous events in four cities: New York, London, Beijing and Bangalore.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau revealed in an exclusive interview with The Verge that there would be a super flagship model this year. The OnePlus 7 series include the standard model (OnePlus 7) and the higher-end model (OnePlus 7 Pro). Lau also confirmed the two key specs of the OnePlus 7 Pro: 5G connectivity and a "breakthrough" display.

Tipster @OnLeaks shared a list of purported specs for the phones which include a QHD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate for the OnePlus 7 Pro and a waterdrop notch camera for the OnePlus 7.
