OnePlus has begun drumming up interest for its upcoming flagship phone, the OnePlus 6T. Its resident software expert @Szymon K. and User Experience Lead Crayon Hsieh shared some details on what to expect from the OnePlus 6T on the comapny's community forums.

The company executives shared that the OnePlus 6T would come with a "whole new UI" which is "the most distinct and intuitive version of OxygenOS yet". When asked to describe the upcoming OxygenOS in 10 words or less, they said "OxygenOS provides a fast, smooth & burden-less experienc with no gimmicks".

Its "FSE" team, which stands for "Fast, Smooth and Efficient", has optimized the software to make the most out of the hardware to deliver a smoother user experience with an advanced Do Not Disturb mode and new Navigation Gestures. The new Navigation Gestures are described as being smoother overall and delivering a more natural experience for the user. There are also full-screen gestures for users to navigate the phone with one hand.

Another new feature is the AI-based algorithm which allows the phone to learn when the user sleeps, so that it can minimize background usage and reduce power consumption accordingly. They also revealed that a lot of work has been devoted to improving the camera behind the scenes so that users can take better photos.

The OnePlus 6T will be announced at the end of the month in New York.
