After much teasing, OnePlus has officially unveiled its latest flagship Android smartphone today, the OnePlus 6. Most of its keys specs are already confirmed before today, such as the Snapdragon 845 processor, and up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.

OnePlus 6 key specs:

  • 6.28-inch, 2280 x 1080-pixel AMOLED display (19:9 aspect ratio)
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 (octa-core, up to 2.8GHz)
  • Rear camera: 16MP main (Sony IMX 519, 1.22 µm pixel size, DCAF, F1.7 aperture) + 20MP secondary (Sony IMX 376K, 1.0 µm pixel size, PDAF, F1.7 aperture)
  • Front camera: 16MP (Sony IMX 371, 1.0 µm pixel size, fixed focus, F2.0 aperture)
  • Records 4K video at 30/60 fps, 1080p video at 240 fps, 720p video at 480 fps
  • 6GB / 8GB LPDDR4X RAM
  • 64GB / 128GB / 256GB UFS 2.1 storage
  • USB Type-C port (USB 2.0), dual nano-SIM slot, 3.5mm audio jack
  • 3,300mAh battery (supports 5V @ 4A fast charging)
  • Runs OxygenOS (based on Android Oreo)
  • Available in Mirror Black / Midnight Black / Silk White colors

Like many recent Android phones, the OnePlus 6 has a notch at the top of its AMOLED display. If you don’t like it, there’s a software option that lets you put a black bar across to hide it.

With its new glass back, the OnePlus 6 is also the company’s first phone with an all-glass design. The glass used here seems to be the same Gorilla Glass 5 protecting the display.

In the camera department, OnePlus has chosen a sensor with a bigger pixel size (1.22 µm) for its main 16MP camera this time. It can record 4K video at up to 60fps, as well as slo-mo HD videos at up to 480 fps. Both front and rear cameras now support portrait mode.

OnePlus says the phone is “water resistant under certain conditions”, but no IP rating is given.

The OnePlus 6 will be available on the company’s online store in North America, India, and Europe starting May 22. Here’s the pricing for the various variants:

  • Mirror Black (6GB RAM / 64GB storage): US$529
  • Mirror Black (8GB RAM / 128GB storage): US$579
  • Midnight Black (8GB RAM / 128GB storage): US$579
  • Midnight Black (8GB RAM / 256GB storage): US$629
  • Silk White (8GB RAM / 128GB storage): US$579

Update, May 18, 10PM: OnePlus Singapore has announced that the phone will also be coming to Singapore May 22, and will be sold through Lazada and Hachi.tech. No local pricing is announced yet.
