OnePlus 5 will be unveiled on 20th June

OnePlus' new smartphone will be unveiled on 20th June at 12PM EDT (21st June at midnight in Singapore). OnePlus isn't giving away much about the phone, but a teaser image includes the words "focus on what matters", an obvious reference to the OnePlus 5's rear camera, which has been co-developed with DxO.

Current rumors suggest that the OnePlus 5 will have a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 8GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It is also rumored to have a dual-camera setup on the rear and a 4,000mAH battery.

As usual with OnePlus' smartphones, we expect the price to be significantly lower than rival brand's flagship phones, although, its prices have been creeping up with each device it has announced, so don't be too surprised if the OnePlus 5 retails at close to S$1,000 at launch.

In case you're wondering what happened to the OnePlus 4, well apart from the number 4 having bad connotations in China, the OnePlus 5 was apparently named due to OnePlus employees fondness of ex-NBA player and seven time NBA champ Robert Horry, who wore number 5 for the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers.
