The OnePlus 5 might have a better camera than the HTC U11

The HTC U11 was crowned DxOMark's top smartphone camera two days ago, but OnePlus appears to be gunning for the throne with its upcoming OnePlus 5 flagship smartphone.

A staff member of OnePlus announced on its forums that OnePlus is working with DxO to improve the photography experience on the OnePlus 5. For those who are not aware of DxO, it is best known for its photography benchmark, the DxOMark where smartphone cameras are assessed and ranked. In addition, DxO also has hardware experience; it unveiled its first camera, the DxO One for the iPhone in 2015.

Both companies did not share specific information on how the partnership will make the OnePlus 5 capture "some of the clearest photos around". OnePlus believes DxO has what it takes to bring mobile photography on the OnePlus 5 to the next level while DxO states that it is proud to work with OnePlus and support its exciting mobile photography strategy.

The OnePlus 5 is expected to be announced as soon as next month. Some of its rumored specs include a 5.5-inch Quad-HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 8GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, a dual-camera setup on the rear, and a 4,000mAh battery.
