OnePlus' next flagship phone has been spotted at an official event.

Tipsters @UniverseIce and @yabhishekhd posted several photos on X (you know, that service formerly known as Twitter) and confirmed the device is the OnePlus 12. The photos were apparently taken at an official OnePlus-Oppo-BOE event and are suspiciously well-taken for a phone that's still under wraps.

OnePlus also confirmed one of the display specs of the upcoming flagship phone. The OnePlus 12 is stated to have "the most advanced 2K display" with "far more than" 2,600 nits of peak brightness. This is a huge upgrade from the OnePlus 11 (1,300 nits), the iPhone 15 Pro Max (2,000 nits), and even exceeds the Xiaomi 13 Ultra (2,600 nits).

Photos taken of the OnePlus 12 from other angles reveal the alert slider on the left side of the screen and the power and volume controls on the right side. The rear camera module is hidden from sight by a cover.

The OnePlus 12 is tipped to launch globally by Q1 2024. Purported renders of the OnePlus 12 by Smartprix and @OnLeaks reveal a new rectangular camera module. The OnePlus 12 is rumoured to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform,  and will have 16GB/24GB of memory and a 5,400mAh battery.

If the rumoured specs turn out to be true, the OnePlus 12 could be the Android flagship phone to watch out for in 2024.
