NVIDIA's photo-fixing AI can now clean up noise, erase artifacts and even remove watermarks
After developing an AI that can fill in blank spots in photos, NVIDIA's newest image restoration AI can now remove noise, grain, pixelation and even watermarks from an image.
The AI has been developed by researchers at NVIDIA, MIT, and Aalto University and is powered by a deep learning neural network that has been trained with the help of 50,000 photos. NVIDIA says that the AI "learned to fix photos by simply looking at examples of corrupted photos only."
The research report submitted by the team suggests that the AI engine can restore images better than a professional photo restorer. Here's some examples of its work:
