As we continue to work from home, video conferencing solutions provider Zoom has enhanced its Zoom for Home program to support some of the most widely used smart displays.

These are the Portal from Facebook, Amazon Echo Show, and Google Nest Hub Max. This means that the Zoom app can be installed on these devices to make video calls to friends, family and colleagues.

In a blog post, Zoom revealed that each device has features that are unique to that device alone.

Facebook Portal’s Smart Camera technology automatically keeps you in frame, making camera controls simple for immersive video calls. Zoom on Portal will be available on Portal Mini, Portal and Portal+ with support for Portal TV in the future.

With Zoom on Echo Show, beginning with Echo Show 8, users will be able to access their meetings by simply saying, “Alexa, join my Zoom meeting.” And, if they have linked to their calendar in the Alexa app, Alexa will automatically start your scheduled meeting entirely hands-free without needing to know their meeting ID or passcode.

Google Nest Hub Max’s smart camera with Face Match displays a user’s relevant information, like upcoming Zoom meetings. And with Google Calendar and Google Assistant integration, joining also uses voice commands like, “Hey Google, join my Zoom meeting.”

These new features come days after Zoom announced the increasing availability of Zoom Phone globally and the launch of its first data centre in Singapore.

Zoom on Facebook’s Portal will be publicly available in September, Zoom on Amazon Echo Show and Zoom on Nest Hub Max will be available late fall 2020.
