After making waves with the Nothing Phone (2) last year, Nothing is back for more with a more affordable version, the Nothing Phone (2a), after a bunch of leaks.
Running on a custom 4nm 8-core MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro processor with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage, the new Nothing Phone (2a) has a redesigned back design and Glyph Interface (LED backlights). The dual-camera bump is now horizontal, smack in the phone's centre, encased in a NFC coil with the LED lights arranged around the coil.
Functions like Flip to Glyph, Glyph Timer, Volume Indicator, and more are still present, even though there are much fewer lights: just 26 individually addressable zones compared to the Nothing Phone (2)'s 33 zones.

There's a large 5,000mAh battery inside, with 45W fast charging that Nothing claims will charge the phone from 0-100% in 59 minutes.
The screen remains at 6.7 inches, featuring a flexible AMOLED display with a 30-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 10-bit colour and up to 1,300 nits peak brightness, all protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
On the rear, Nothing uses a 90-degree angle unibody cover that wraps around the edges, similar to the rounded edges we saw on the Nothing Phone (2). The company says this makes the phone sturdier with notable improvements on drop test results.

On the rear, we get dual 50MP cameras which seem to be the same ones on the Nothing Phone (2), with a wide-angle main camera (f/1.88 aperture) and an ultrawide camera (f/2.2 aperture, 114° FOV). If the cameras are the same, we could possibly get the same great photography performance as we did with the Nothing Phone (2), which would give the Nothing Phone (2a) a big boost when competing against other midrange phones in this price range.
