Carl Pei, the co-founder of OnePlus, left the company in October last year to take "some time off to decompress and catch up". Now, he is back with a new company called Nothing.

According to the press release seen by The Verge, Nothing is a "London-based consumer technology company" and has notable investors such as iPod inventor Tony Fadell, YouTuber Casey Neistat, Twitch co-founder Kevin Lin, and Reddit CEO Steve Huffman.

Pei revealed in the interview with The Verge that Nothing will be releasing products across different categories with the goal of establishing an ecosystem of devices. To stand out from the rest of the market, Pei shared that Nothing's products will consist of "custom made" components.

This will allow his products to have "differentiated" designs and not look too similar to the other products in the market. While he did not provide specific information on what these products are, they are expected to be unveiled in the first half of the year.
