The nostalgic Lofree QTV is possibly the most adorable Bluetooth speaker ever
This is the QTV and it is by Lofree, a Chinese company that burst onto the scene last year with their eponymous wireless mechanical keyboard on Indiegogo.
Like the Lofree keyboard, the QTV has a vintage look inspired by TVs from the Fifties and Sixties.
Though it is called the QTV, it isn't actually a TV. It is, in fact, a wireless Bluetooth speaker and bedside clock. It comes in four colors: Vernal White, Aestival Blue, Scarlet Red, and Peppermint Green.
Apart from displaying the time, it also has two customizable alarms, and timer function. The timer function can be handy for short workouts or cooking.
I got the chance to play around with an early sample and I found that Bluetooth functionality is good and audio performance is surprisingly robust for a speaker of its size. Speaking of size, it is small enough to fit into the palm of your hands.
It is loud enough to fill up a small room without distorting and clarity is good. It won't beat dedicated Bluetooth speakers, but for what is essentially a novelty/lifestyle item, I was quite impressed by its sound.
It has a built-in battery and has a playback time of 5 hours. It charges via a micro-USB port.
The Lofree QTV is available on Indiegogo right now and a single speaker would set you back US$69. But be fast, because at the time of writing, only 11 are left. If you miss out on this, the next tier will have you paying US$74 for a single speaker.
You can also get two QTV speakers for US$128, which makes for some savings.
The Lofree QTV campaign will end on 25 June and the QTV is expected to ship in July 2018.
