Nokia veteran Arto Nummela steps down as CEO of HMD Global

HMD Global just announced a leadership change which will see Arto Nummela stepping down as CEO. 

According to its press release, Arto reached a mutual agreement with the HMD Global Board of Directors to leave the company with immediate effect. President Florian Seiche has been appointed to the role of acting CEO immediately. 

Commenting on the changes, Sam Chin, Chairman of the Board, HMD Global Oy said: ”Arto Nummela has played a key role in the creation of the HMD Global operation, building the team and launching our first products. On behalf of the whole Board, I thank Arto for his contribution and wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Arto has an extensive experience in the industry. He was the Vice President at Microsoft Mobile Devices Sales group in Greater Asia, Middle East and Africa region. He joined Nokia in 1994 and held a range of positions from product creation, portfolio and business management to global sales and marketing.
