I'm not sure I'll ever be able to afford a Mercedes in my lifetime, but there's one Mercedes that I might actually be able to buy. German gaming chair manufacturer noblechairs has partnered with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorspot to release a special edition gaming chair for Formula 1 enthusiasts. The new gaming chair will be part of the company's Epic series and cost US$449.
The Epic line-up already hosts many branded collaborations, including Mousesports, LeFloid, and SK Gaming-themed chairs. However, for a chair that was built in partnership with a luxury car maker, it's slightly strange that it's only offered with "hand-picked" PU leather and not genuine or nappa leather. The latter two are actually options on the regular Epic model, so it wouldn't have been much of a stretch for noblechairs to make them available, especially since many gaming chair designs are actually modeled after racing car seats.
That said, noblechairs claims its 1.5mm PU vegan faux leather is resistant to damage and moisture, in addition to being easy to clean.
Other than that, the Mercedes special edition chair boasts many of the features you'd expect from a gaming chair today, such as an adjustable backrest that can recline from between 90° and 135°, 4D armrests, Class 4 hydraulic pistons, and an aluminum base with five 60mm casters. The chair is rated for a maximum weight of up to 120kg.
The chair also comes with a head and lumbar cushion, which is pretty much par for the course with gaming chairs.
